Ava DuVernay and Autumn Riley

Ava DuVernay born August 24, 72 at Long Beach in CA. Her aunt Denise encouraged her passion for the arts and her creative side. Following graduation, she attended the University of California Los Angeles which she graduated with certificates in English as well as African American studies. DuVernay was a student at the college when she started to get fascinated by the production aspect of broadcast journalism. DuVernay was a CBS News intern during the O.J. Simpson trial. DuVernay was told to examine the garbage from a home belonging to a jury member. Her work left her dissatisfied by journalism and she decided to move towards the publicity industry. DuVernay began her first position as a publicity specialist in small production studios right out of high school. The DuVernay Agency is her first public relations agency. The company launched a number of promotions and lifestyle channels that include Urban Beauty Collective and Urban Eye.
